MUSIC SHEETS - Music of The Galaxy
Guardians of The Galaxy has been raking in the box office and is probably one of the surprise hit of the summer movies. I haven't watched the movie yet but it's been getting great feed back.
A big part of the story is a mixtape that Peter Quill/Star Lord (played by Chris Pratt) owns. The mixtape (known as Awesome Mix Vol.1) is supposedly given to Quill by his mother before she died. The album contains his mother's favorite songs. The album is pivotal to Quill's character as it is an anchor to his past before he was abducted by aliens.
Good news is Marvel released the album on Amazon and on iTunes. Awesome Mix Vol.1 contains 12 tracks featuring 70's hits like "Hooked on A Feeling" by Blue Suede, "Cherry Bomb" by The Runaways, and "Escape (Pina Colada Song) by Rupert Holmes.
The track list follows:
Blue Suede - Hooked on A Feeling
10cc - I'm Not In Love
Red Bone - Come and Get Your Love
The Runaways - Cherry Bomb
Raspberries - Go All The Way
Norman Greenbaum -Spirit in The Sky
David Bowie - Moonage Daydream
Elvin Bishop - Fooled Aroun and Fell in Love
Jackson 5 - I Want You Back
Rupert Holmes - Escape ( Pina Colada song)
The Five Stairsteps - O-Oh Child
Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell - Ain't no Mountain High Enough
The album was released last July 29, 2014. Guardians of The Galaxy is showing since August 1, 2014.
