CELEBRITY SPOTLIGHT - JAKE ABEL

It's been quite awhile since the last Celebrity Spotlight but it's back and this time the spotlight is on an American actor whose filmography has been a string of film adaptations.  Of course, book worms and movie geeks are already familiar with him however, I think he still needs a big break that will catapult him to stardom. Will his next movie be it? Maybe, since the author of his next adaptation movie brought fame and fortune to three most talked about stars of their generation. I am talking about The Host star Jake Abel.

Jake Able is an Ohio born actor and his first credited role was in a Disney Channel Original movie Go Figure. He then had recurring guest roles in the TV series Threshold, Cold Case, and ER. Jake Abel also snag the role of Dean and Sam Winchester's half brother Adam in the CW series Supernatural. He recently appeared as Tyler Mosser in an episode of ABC's Grey's Anatomy.

In 2008, Abel won the Rising Star Award at the 16th Hamptons International Film Festival for his work on the Marc Abraham film, Flash of Genius. the following year,  he appeared on Peter Jackson's adaptation of Alice Sebold's The Lovely Bones.  In 2010, Jake Abel was cast as the son of Hermes, Luke Castellan, in the movie adaptation of Rick Riordan's best seller series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. The year after that, Jake Abel was also cast as Mark James in the adaptation of Pittacus Lore's I am Number Four with Alex Pettyfer and Dianna Agron.

In 2012, Jake Abel was cast as Ian O'Shea in the movie adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's The Host. Meyer is also the author of The Twilight series which brought fame to Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Jake Abel stars in The Host with Saoirse Ronan who he worked with in The Lovely Bones and Max Irons. Will Stephenie Meyer's words be enough to place Jake Abel among the tops stars in Hollywood? I do think that Jake Abel just needs the right break for him to make it big. He has good acting chops plus his uncanny resemblance to Kevin Bacon and a blockbuster hit are the tools he need to be a top dog in the business.

Jake Abel reprises his role as Hermes' son Luke in the second installation of the Percy Jackson series Sea of Monsters.
